Characteristics - Bright green deciduous foliage made up of finely dissected leaves, turns into fiery orange-red colours later in the year.

Period of Interest - Develops green leaves in early spring before developing red edges in summer, before finally turning to deep orange and red in autumn.

Ultimate Height & Spread - Grows to around 3m high and spreads to roughly 2m wide.

Plant Advice - Prefers a fully sunny position in the garden but can tolerate partial shade, can be planted in most soil types provided it is well-drained.

Description

Acer palmatum Emerald Lace is an attractive garden acer with colourful deciduous foliage. This plant dazzles from early spring with a bright burst of finely dissected lime-green leaves, and once summer comes around you'll see that the foliage has developed a striking red edge, providing a stunning contrast. As we come to autumn, the leaves darken into a fiery orange-red colour, providing seasonal interest for the majority of the year.

This japanese maple prefers to be planted in full sun, but can easily adapt to a partially shaded position in your garden. Emerald Lace can tolerate most soil types, so long as the planting area is moist, but well-drained.
